DR. BRANDON YOST | PRINCIPAL

My Email: brandon.yost@washk12.org

Dr. Brandon L. Yost grew up in the small farm town of Kamas, Utah, as the oldest of four boys, and graduated from South Summit High School. After high school, he attended Utah Valley University where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology. Brandon then transferred to BYU-Hawaii where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL and also completed his Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education.

While in Hawaii, Brandon met his beautiful wife, Collette. Together, they have six wonderful children – Dallin, Emmalee, Felicity, Gavin, Hunter, and Iley. When they left Hawaii, Brandon took his first teaching job at Snow Canyon Middle School where he taught 8th and 9th graders in the subjects of ESL, Latinos in Action, Reading, and Spanish.

Dr. Yost completed his M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership at Southern Utah University in 2011 and finished his Ph.D. degree in Teacher Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2015. During his last year of doctoral studies, Dr. Yost began working as the Title I Coordinator at Sunset Elementary School where he worked until his appointment as the fortunate principal at Diamond Valley Elementary School in the spring of 2017. Dr. Yost has loved his time at DVES (and hopes for many years of “more time”) where he enjoys working with the Diamond Valley Diamondback student body, faculty, and community.

Yvonne Fordham

YVONNE FORDHAM | LEARNING COACH

My Email: yvonne.fordham@washk12.org

Hi my name is Yvonne Fordham. I am so excited to be a part of the Diamond Valley family as the Learning Coach. I graduated from Hurricane High and managed a hair salon before starting my own family. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and volunteered in my children’s classrooms. This is where I found my love for teaching and those little faces lighting up with “Aha” moments. I went back to school and graduated from Dixie College (now known as Utah Tech University) I began my teaching career at Hurricane Elementary where I taught for five years in third and first grade. I made the decision to move closer to my home and children and accepted a position at Majestic Fields Elementary. I taught first grade dual immersion and looped up with my students and taught second grade dual immersion (best two years ever!) I then moved into the role of the Reading Interventionist for three years. I have a Masters Degree in Learning and Technology, an ESL endorsement, Gifted and Talented endorsement, and Reading endorsement. I have recently received my Administration License and completed the LETRS program. I have a love for professional development and teaching literacy.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like all things outdoors and NFL football. I look forward to my future here at Diamond Valley and getting to know the students and community.
