JONATHON WALKER | Head Custodian

Hello! My name is Jonathon Walker and I'm your new head custodian! I grew up in various places, Utah, New Mexico and Nevada. My wife and I have been living in St. George for the past 3 years. We enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, camping, ect. I've always had a fascination with aviation, so i'm currently working on getting my private pilot's license. In my past professional roles in the district, I have enjoyed working alongside teachers and staff to create a positive environment. I am very glad to be part of the DVES team!

Hi! I’m Jody Carter. I've been one of the lunch ladies here at Diamond Valley Elementary since 2011. I also volunteer for the PTVO taking photos for the yearbook and I manage DVES social media pages. In addition to working in the kitchen, I have also worked here as a SPED and P.E. paraprofessional.

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, CA. My husband and I have two sons and a labrador retriever named Buddy! We moved to Utah in 2006 and live right here in Diamond Valley!

I love spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts and playing in my Bunco group every month.

I absolutely love working here. I look forward to seeing all of the students each day! I’m lucky enough to get to say hi and small talk with almost every student in our school as I serve them breakfast and lunch or while taking their photos!

I can honestly say, this is my favorite job ever except when the 5th graders graduate! I cry every year! I work at the best school with the best coworkers, here at Diamond Valley Elementary!

MEGAN BOWTHORPE | Spanish Paraprofessional

Hi! My name is Megan Bowthorpe. I am excited to be the new Spanish Paraprofessional at Diamond Valley Elementary. I have loved being a substitute teacher the last few years, but I'm looking forward to being in a new role. I graduated from the University of Utah in Spanish. I worked in the healthcare field for several years, and then found my way to education. I worked as a first grade teacher in Northern Utah, but decided to stay home with my children for a few years. I have lived in St. George Utah for 3 years now, and love it! I love reading books, spending time with my family, and watching movies. I'm looking forward to the new school year!

This my second year at DVES as a reading para professional and I love teaching others to read! When I was young, my family didn’t have a television until I was 16 years old, so we all read books for entertainment and learning. Reading is a key to success and happiness in life. I’m glad to be able to help others learn this vital skill.

I have a bachelors degree from Utah State University in Animal Science with a minor in Business. I enjoy accounting, book keeping, budgeting money, and was co owner of a family construction/ evacuation business for 15 years.

I love everything about horses from artwork to training them in Western, English, jumping, driving, showing, roping, reining, barrel racing and pole bending.

Including my children’s pets, we have four horses, two dogs, a cat, and six chickens.

My husband John and I love being married ( 28 years). We have 5 children Four of our children still live at home and the youngest two are in school.

As a family we like to work together on construction and home improvement projects. We enjoy riding 4x4’s, camping, fishing and being outdoors.

We live close to DVES ; when I hear children’s laughter at recess or hear the school bell ring it makes me smile. Diamond Valley is a great place to be.

I'm 41 years old, happily married for 23 years! I'm a boy mom I have 3 sons that are 20, 16, and 12! I am going to be a first time grandmas in December which makes my heart so happy!!! I love spending time with my family going camping, hunting, and on vacations!

Hi! My name is Beth Mitchell. I have lived in Southern Utah all my life. I am married with 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy. I have been a para for 3 years and love working with the children. My favorite pastime is being with family, kayaking, camping, and hiking. I'm excited to be here at Diamond Valley!

DVES Faculty

Our teachers at Diamond Valley Elementary are highly experienced, educated, and dedicated. We have a combined total of over 100 years of teaching. Most of our faculty have taken Gifted and Talented post-graduate classes with many receiving the full endorsement. Many have also received their Master’s Degree, Reading Endorsement, Math Endorsement, or ESL Endorsement. Each faculty member works their hardest to provide a high quality education for every student. The teachers have fun and professional personalities that make Diamond Valley a place that children love to be.
