Hi! I’m Jody Carter. I've been one of the lunch ladies here at Diamond Valley Elementary since 2011. I also volunteer for the PTVO taking photos for the yearbook and I manage DVES social media pages. In addition to working in the kitchen, I have also worked here as a SPED and P.E. paraprofessional. 

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, CA. My husband and I have two sons and a labrador retriever named Buddy! We moved to Utah in 2006 and live right here in Diamond Valley!

I love spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts and playing in my Bunco group every month.

I absolutely love working here. I look forward to seeing all of the students each day! I’m lucky enough to get to say hi and small talk with almost every student in our school as I serve them breakfast and lunch or while taking their photos!

I can honestly say, this is my favorite job ever except when the 5th graders graduate! I cry every year! I work at the best school with the best coworkers, here at Diamond Valley Elementary!

 My name is Joann Balen, I have worked at the school for close to 20 years and refer to it as my "Happy Place". I have been married for 60 plus years and have 3 of the greatest daughters ever.  We all live on the "Balen Compound" of 100 acres in Veyo.  I have 4 granddaughters, 2 great granddaughters, and finally 2 great grandsons. After I was married I lived in Vegas for 11 years but came back to Veyo to take over Veyo Pool which has been in my family since my grandfather built it in the early 1920's. Growing up and being part of it was the best life anyone could ever ask for. I love my job at Diamond Valley and hope to have many more years here. I enjoy traveling with my daughters and family time and above all spending time with the "little Greats".

I'm 41 years old, happily married for 23 years! I'm a boy mom I have 3 sons that are 20, 16, and 12! I am going to be a first time grandmas in December which makes my heart so happy!!! I love spending time with my family going camping, hunting, and on vacations!

My name is Beth Laird and I have 2 boys that keep me busy, both have attended DVES since preschool, with my youngest still here. He's the one who gave the big push to get 'Mom' to come work at his school! In my spare time you'll find me chasing my boys from one sport to the next, managing our growing business, gardening, and enjoying time spent with my family. I'm a proud wrestling, baseball & football Mom . I love to stay active, be outdoors with my family, especially fishing, hiking & hunting. My family and I have lived in the area for 8 years now, and we love it here! I grew up in Herriman, UT and graduated from Riverton High. Before moving to southern utah with my family, I worked in the medical field and enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. Since our move south, my husband and I have started our own business which keeps us busy amongst all the other things. I am looking forward to getting to know more of our DVES family, working with the students alongside the incredible staff here at DVES!
